About us
The Young Researchers in Ancient History (YRAH) of the Complutense University of Madrid is a group of doctoral researchers awarded with competitive grants from the Spanish Ministry of Education, the Regional Government of Madrid or the Complutense University itself. We conduct our research and teaching assignments in the Department of Prehistory, Ancient History and Archaeology (Section of Ancient History) at the Faculty of Geography and History.
Una nueva edición
El Encuentro de Jóvenes Investigadores en Historia Antigua (EJIHA) de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid reúne cada año, desde 2002, a jóvenes y prometedores investigadores en Historia, Arqueología y Mundo Antiguo de toda España y Europa.
Esta nueva edición tiene como objetivo, como se viene haciendo en los últimos años, promover el diálogo académico y el intercambio interdisciplinar entre doctorandos y jóvenes investigadores especializados en estudios del mundo antiguo con especial atención a Grecia, Roma, Egipto y Oriente Próximo, ofreciendo un espacio donde los investigadores puedan compartir y reflexionar sobre sus temas de investigación.
Este congreso nace con el interés de facilitar un lugar de intercambio y trabajo
interdisciplinar que, en la línea de los estudios propios del ámbito de la Historia, aporten otras perspectivas para profundizar en el análisis de los procesos del pasado. Así pues, se aceptarán propuestas que aborden distintos fenómenos históricos relacionados, entre otros, con el poder político, la religión, la vida cotidiana, las redes comerciales o las identidades culturales, aplicando para ello distintos marcos metodológicos.
Esperamos que numerosos jóvenes investigadores (principalmente estudiantes de máster y doctorado) contribuyan al debate sobre temas tan amplios y dinámicos.

A new edition
The Meeting of Young Researchers in Ancient History (MYRAH/EJIHA) of the Complutense University of Madrid has brought together every year since 2002 young and promising researchers in History, Archaeology, and the Ancient World from all over Spain and Europe.
This new edition aims, as in recent years, to promote academic dialogue and interdisciplinary exchange among doctoral candidates and early-career researchers specialising in Ancient World studies, with particular attention to Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East, offering a space in which researchers can share and reflect on their research topics.
This conference was conceived with the aim of facilitating a space for exchange and interdisciplinary work which, in line with studies proper to the field of History, incorporates other perspectives in order to deepen the analysis of past processes. Thus, proposals will be accepted that address different historical phenomena related, among others, to political power, religion, everyday life, trade networks, or cultural identities, applying a variety of methodological frameworks.
We hope that many young researchers (mainly MA and doctoral students) will contribute to the debate on such broad and dynamic topics.
