About us
The Young Researchers in Ancient History of the Complutense University of Madrid are a group of pre-doctoral researchers with grants from the Ministry of Education, the Regional Government of Madrid or the university itself. We conduct our research and teaching work in the Department of Prehistory, Ancient History and Archaeology (ANCIENT HISTORY AREA) at the Faculty of Geography and History.
The first ones in Spain
The Meeting of Young Researchers in Ancient History at the Complutense University has been bringing together young promising researchers in History, Archaeology, and the Ancient World from all over Spain every year since 2002. For three days, the capital becomes a privileged space for meeting and debate, for reflection and criticism, for friendships and reunions.
In this edition "Different Forms of Otherness in the Ancient World" we will have an opening and closing lecture, in addition to the usual three exhibition sessions, focusing on personal research projects, and three Round Tables that will analyze Otherness from different perspectives, such as gender, religion, society and writing itself. The organizers and moderators of these round tables will be renowned specialists in these topics with links to the Complutense University of Madrid, either as former doctoral students and organizers of MYRAH-22 or as current professors.
We look forward to seeing you ONLINE on 2, 3 and 4 November 2022!
